If you guys were unaware, I actually grew up in London, U.K. and only recently moved to New York City. I have therefore have a unique duo perspective on relationships and men. NY vs. LDN is all about the differences and comparisons that I am experiencing right now!!
So the first impression you get from a guy is ALWAYS important! The funny thing is the MAJOR difference, that I have experienced between the average LDN guy and the average NY dude.
In London, if I was at a club or just out and about and a guy approached me this is more or less how the conversation would go:
LDN Guy:Wats gd? *nods head at me* …….uh…….How old are you?
Cherie Amour: Nothing…..?? (my age ;o)) *looks up at the sky bored already*
LDN Guy: So….What ends you from? (U.S. translation: Endz = area e.g. queens/brooklyn)
Cherie Amour:Lewisham……(I was using this location even B4 I lived there, for those that know me……u no why)
LDN Guy: So can I get your DIGITS den? ( U.S. translation: DIGITS= phone number)
Cherie Amour:Umm…I have a boyfriend…..sorry! *walks away utterly unimpressed and annoyed I had to entertain that poor excuse for a conversation*
And yea, even if I didn’t have a boyfriend I still used that line….just like N.Y. guys,LONDON guys would sometimes try the whole …."we can just be friends" rubbish(trash), but LADIES it’s all about DELIVERY; put the right hint of distaste in your voice and mofo’s WILL get the message….most of the time…
Anyhu Let’s compare to American , NY guy:
NY guy: Excuse me, can I talk to you for a second? *usually looks me up and down, with some sort of sexy look in his eye* I’m …..(name) (extends hand)
Cherie Amour: *shakes hand* Cherie
NY guy: *makes some kind of chit chat, Who did I come out with?/ Where am I going?*
Cherie Amour:*Chit Chats back explaining my accent and that I’m from London, if they haven’t already guesssed*
NOW HERE IS THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE:
